Camping plans and Cascadin
You wouldn’t think these two things have much in common. But they do. And I can say this firmly because Jake, my partner, and I just spent a week camping across Montana, and Cascadin will make the next camping trip so much better. It turns out that camping plans and Cascadin go hand in hand.
It takes planning to go camping
I have never been the type of person who can throw stuff into the car or the bag and hit the road without a second thought. There are times when I wish I wasn’t such a planner, but it’s in my nature. I can be flexible, but planning is a must for me.
That’s why Cascadin is so great for planning vacations for me. As the trip approaches, I start building my to-do list of everything I want to make sure we take with us. For this trip, since it was a week-long excursion, I also did meal planning in Cascadin.
Okay, who am I kidding – I did all the planning in Cascadin:
- Route planning
- Sights to see along the way
- Shopping list
- Meal planning
- Packing list
And it made the planning so much easier as a team
Jake and I are partners-in-everything, and Cascadin makes it easier for us to plan and organize all the different hats we wear in our relationship.
After putting together the planning lists, Jake could then quickly execute on them. We communicated clearly what we needed and what was still missing.
The packing list alone was a life saver.
But, there were still a few things we missed.
One of the things we learned by using Cascadin and a to-do list for planning this trip is that we trusted the list a little too much.
Since I made the packing list in Cascadin, Jake used that to pack the car on the departure day. He trusted that I had included everything we needed. While I love him for trusting me, I am human, and I did not put everything on the list.
For example, we have inflatable paddle boards. I included them in the packing list but did not include the life vests as I assumed Jake would know to include them when he saw the paddle boards on the packing list.
Lesson learned. We didn’t use the boards much and never stood up as we did not want to fall into very cold water without life vests on.
Here’s the best thing about camping plans and Cascadin, though
We can save and ADD to the lists! 💥
Once we realized the items we forgot to include, we added them to the packing list in Cascadin. And we’ll be able to reuse that list again and again.
It will always be in our archives. The next time we have a camping trip, we’ll simply copy the list and add it to our project for the new adventure.
We’re constantly finding new ways to use Cascadin, and I’ll be sharing more of those stories. For now, though, I’m quite delighted that we have a tool for camping plans and future adventures.
